About The Loughran Family
Please sign in to see more. The Loughran family have their origins in Ireland but my own parents and grandparents come from Huddersfield in the West Riding of Yorkshire. (Loughran, Copley, Lunn, Ainley, Blackburn, Jackson.)
After coming to England from Ireland in the 1830's Peter Loughrin settled in York and married Caroline MILBURN in 1843. The origins of Caroline's father Walker MILBURN have not yet been traced. He was a tailor by trade and most probably came to York from Carlisle where he might have had a link with the Rievers.
My wife's family originated in Wales on her father's side (Roberts) and her mum's ancestors (Errington) came from Lancaster before moving to Co. Durham. Other branches of her family came from Edgmond in Shropshire (Craddock, Dodd, Morris, Madden), who married into the Roberts side of the family.
